Hiroshima 3

Here I am with a tour guide standing in front of the only building that remains. His father was a victim of the bomb. The guide had such compassion for me as an American and encouraged me to tell the story of Hiroshima to others.

Hiroshima 2

Inside the museum I saw this huge black and white picture of the devastation caused by the atomic bomb.

Greetings from Japan/ Hiroshima 01

I arrived in Japan on the 4th of June. This will be a six month stay with two weeks in China to sing and speak for peace. My first stop was Hiroshima where I spent two weeks. I have always wanted to visit this city. It is the place where the atomic bomb was dropped on the people of that city on August 6, 1945. I was amazed by the fact that the people of this city have a huge passion for peace. They want the story about the dropping of the bomb to be told as a way to insure that something like this never happens again. The city has become a peace center for the world and on August 6th people from around the word will gather there to remember those who died.
You will find below pictures from my visit to the Hiroshima Peace Museum. It was a powerful and personally moving experience. Here, documented are effects of the bomb on the region.
I saw survivors returning to this place to remember and to pray.
